I love that this song--and video--blend such soulfulness
and whimsy so beautifully. (The black smoke reminds me
of the smoke monster from 'Lost,' an apropos title here.
It's such a vivid and haunting video, matching the sadness
inherent in her voice as she pleads...
but there's a lightness with the visuals, not least of all
helped by the lyrical reference.
There's turmoil in her heart and voice, just under the
defiant protestation of what a tough cookie she is!
