"Everybody Wants To Rule The World" - Tears for Fears

I'm sure part of my extreme fascination with this band will forever
remain linked to the spirit of self-exploration and discovery that was
taking place in my vulnerable teen-aged existence when they hit the
scene.

But the unique sound and the uncanny ability to unearth raw emotions
with their vocals and lyrics are absolutely rich and praise-worthy.
They were revealers of truth, emotional and otherwise, and they
were the vanguard of a small revolution in music and society.

They really don't make music like this any more--it's a shame.
The great thing for that time was that the world was still separated, no
access to similar folks through Internet  and the like, and so when you
met strangers on the street you needed a code to break through and
determine who was a fellow traveller. This was a band that when you
discovered someone else liked them, your heart lightened a bit.
